Mouth breathing in children
Breathing predominantly through the mouth is one of the signs we look for when a child’s teeth and jaws are developing. It rarely appears on its own: it often comes together with snoring during sleep, an obvious over or under bite, teeth coming in crooked, poor posture when standing or sitting, or a habit of sucking a thumb, fingers, a pacifier or a bottle past infancy.
At our Three Hills clinic these signs are assessed together rather than one at a time. If your child shows two or more of them, book a MyoBrace consultation with Dr. Hobbs and we will look at how the teeth, jaws and breathing are developing.
